Mr. Miacca
Story source: English Fairy Tales by Joseph Jacobs with illustrations by John D. Batten (1890).

Tommy Grimes was a good boy but sometimes acted up. His mother always used to tell him that he needed to be a good boy or else Mr. Miacca would come and take him. One day, Tommy was acting up and Mr. Miacca swooped Tommy up and put him into his bag. When Mr. Miacca got inside he pulled Tommy out and told his that he was going to eat him for dinner. Mr. Miacca left Tommy with his wife while he went out to get the herbs he needed to cook Tommy wife. Tommy convinced Mrs. Miacca to let him run home and get pudding for Mr. Miacca. Tommy ran off and was thinking that h got off the hook so easy. On his way home he ran into Mr. Miacca and Mr. Miacca put him in his bag. Mr. Miacca began to heat up a pot and told Tommy to put a leg out so he could chop it off. Instead of putting his own leg out, Tommy put one of the couch legs out and when Mr. Miacca wasn't paying attention Tommy ran out of the house and all the way home. He never went around the corner again until he was old enough to do so.

Fairy Ointment
Story source: English Fairy Tales by Joseph Jacobs with illustrations by John D. Batten (1890).

There was a nurse named Dame Goody who looked after sick people and minded babies. One night, she woke up to a man who asked her to come to his wife because she was sick. Dame did not like the way the fellow looked and kind of felt weary about the situation. However, she went down to the man and rode with him to his wife. She was given a baby and told to put ointment on its eyes whenever they open. She did as she was told only she was very curious because she had never seen this done before. She made sure no one was looking and then stroked some of the ointment on her own eyes. Soon, everything had changed. The furniture in the cottage turned elegant, the mother was beautiful and in white silk, the baby was beautiful. Everything was so beautiful and perfect. Soon the man returned Dame Goody back to her cottage and paid her for her service. The next day, Dame Goody went out to the market to buy some things for her house. She ran into the man and tried to talk to him and the man was surprised that she could see him. He knew that she had used the ointment on her right eye and stabbed her in the eye so she was now blind.
